Build redux review4/30/2023 ![]() I ordered a build from Redux in early December and just received it a couple days ago. I know this thread is a bit old, but thought I'd post an update for those still waiting. Namely more professional communication and more realistic marketing. It's less of a jab at Build Redux itself, though they certainly could have done things different. The purpose of the information I provided is to both inform anyone who is thinking about using this SI for their new computer, as well as anyone who might be in a similar situation so they might temper their expectations. Well the week came and went, but I never received an email with the tracking information in addition, their site lists my order as "unfulfilled," so I'm assuming it hasn't shipped yet. I haven't received any further communication until December 10th where they apologized for the delay-blaming COVID protocols and high demand-and told me that my estimated ship date would be sometime in the week of December 14th (this week). I waited 11 days already so I decided to choose option 3. ![]() Keep myself in queue and wait out the backorder "Upgrade" to Ryzen 7 3800X for an additional $40 The email laid out a couple of options for me to consider:ĭowngrade to Ryzen 5 3600X for $60 credit It wasn't until November 19th that I received an email stating that the CPU I chose, Ryzen 5 5600X, is on backorder. This is an old topic, but I'm going to weigh in just in case anybody googled their way here like myself I am surprised this is such a shit-show given the backing of a well known company like Digital Storm. Definitely shy away from this company if you expect honest support and sub-6 week shipping times. I would not be upset if the expectation was clear, but Build Redux has chosen to misrepresent the truth multiple times.Įdit: ^ This is not just me go look at their social media and you will see a plethora of customers complaining about the same thing.Īfter over a month of waiting, my PC has not even shipped, yet Build Redux continues to make claims of 10 business day ship times on their site and across social media. This week alone, support claimed that my build would ship the following day 3 different times. I understand that we are in a pandemic and that supply chains are disrupted, however, Build Redux consistently has lied to customers guaranteeing ship dates. ![]() Ever since, Build Redux has consistently pushed the delivery date to the next week. On the site, this was set for a Mid-November delivery date. After becoming frustrated with trying to get a 3070/3080, I opted to "pre-purchase" a PC. In early November, Linus Tech Tips' made a video detailing Digital Storm's newest service: Build Redux, a pre-built PC manufacturer who only charges a $75 markup. That being said, with the current state of GPU/CPU supply chain problems and insane scalping, more and more people are opting to go the pre-built route. I know, building a PC is yourself is often better than buying a pre-built. ![]()
